When a friend hires you for the pictures of her wedding

This story is the one that has touched me the most since I’ve been working in weddings; not just because of the friends involved, but because of the way they asked me to be their photographer.
By the end of November of last year, in a Thursday like today, a ‘Thursday of paches’ in the night of my place where we were, them two and I… We had already eaten half pache maybe, when Nora tells Alvaro: give Ruben what we brought him -and since before he pulled it out- I knew it was a wedding invitation, but I didn’t know it was a “special invitation” (which you can see in the images of this post) When is it? –I asked- I had that date already taken! Which was in may of this year; when I told them, Nora put a face mixed with surprise, concern and something else… “Really?!” -she asked- And I told them it was true, a week ago (maybe two) another couple had booked the date, but being Nora my good friend I told her not to worry because I didn’t know how, but I would be at her wedding. (occasionally we attend two events in the same day; we just coordinate with the rest of the team).

3 days of shooting

So then she told me that one of the first things her dad asked about the wedding were about who was going to take the photos (her dad is a photographer) and she answered that she already had a photographer… without knowing what was I going to say. And so, while we were finishing our paches and the hot chocolate with toast bread, they told me a little bit about their plans, and that I was the third person in knowing, among other stuff… then we talked about the options, we saw some pictures and a sample video. The next day I sent them the information I always send; a couples of days later they chose their package and… in total were 3 days: a Saturday the civil wedding, the next one the religious wedding and almost a month later the photoshoot. So here I leave you with a sample of those three days; the civil wedding and the photoshoot were at “Casa Miravalle” and the religious wedding was in “Iglesia Maria Auxiliadora”.
